Pistol Optics 101

The Pistol Optics 101 course at Buck & Doe’s Mercantile will teach you the major benefits of pistol optics and the advantages of shooting target focused vs front sight focused.  We’ll cover the correct way to grip and present the gun so that you do not have to find or “fish” for the dot once at full presentation. You’ll learn how to track the dot while shooting to acquire faster follow up shots on target. We’ll teach you tricks to faster acquire an acceptable sight pictures at closer distances and you’ll gain an understanding of mechanical offset at different distances.

Equipment needed for this class:

Pistol with a slide mounted red/green dot optic (preferable with a 10 yard zero)

Minimum of 2 magazines

Eye and Ear protection

200 rounds of ammunition
