Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Alena is a proud local and started attending UTSA this fall. Her love for archery began at just 7 years old, shooting her very first bow from a local farm supply store in the backyard. What started as a childhood hobby quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
Since 2019, Alena has been a familiar face at Buck & Doe’s, coming in to shoot with her dad and dreaming of one day joining the team. Today, that dream is a reality!
Alena recently earned her USA Archery Level 1 and Level 2 certifications, allowing her to teach JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) along with both youth and adult classes here at the store. She continues to expand her knowledge and sharpen her skills—not only as an instructor but also as a trained bow technician—bringing confidence, expertise, and hands-on experience to every lesson.
As Buck & Doe’s archery instructor, Alena is passionate about helping archers of all ages grow their skills, build confidence, and discover the same excitement for the sport that she found years ago in her own backyard.
Whether you’re picking up a bow for the first time or looking to refine your technique, Alena is here to help you hit your mark!
