Larry Mitchell is passionate about helping others grow in the sport of archery, whether they’re picking up a bow for the very first time or working to refine their skills. He finds the greatest reward in watching new shooters enjoy their experience and develop a lasting interest in archery, as well as seeing more experienced archers improve and reach their goals.
Larry brings versatility to his instruction, shooting both barebow recurve and compound setups. His barebow rig features a Sebastien Flute Evo riser with an aluminum weight kit, paired with 36lb Sebastien Flute “Medium” Neo limbs with limb saver dampeners. He uses a Ben’s Arrow Rest, a Wifler Industries Barebow plunger, Easton Eclipse arrows, and a Bateman Archery “Bubba Barebow” finger tab. On the compound side, Larry shoots a Mathews Arc 34 equipped with a 10” front stabilizer with weight kit and an 8” rear stabilizer, a 5-pin UV sight, and a Mathews MX2 arrow rest. His release of choice is the B3 Rival, and he shoots Easton Sonic arrows.
Larry is also a U.S. Army Infantry Combat Veteran, bringing discipline, focus, and a strong sense of dedication to everything he does—both on and off the range.
Outside of archery, Larry maintains balance and focus through a daily yoga practice, which complements his calm, steady approach to both shooting and teaching. His supportive style and enthusiasm make him a great coach for archers of all experience levels.
